{"id":1989,"date":"2014-08-25T12:27:36","date_gmt":"2014-08-25T16:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/consigli.wpengine.com\/?p=1989"},"modified":"2020-12-09T11:06:10","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T16:06:10","slug":"university-albany-mohawk-tower-renovations-completed-kirchhoff-consigli-construction-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.consigli.com\/university-albany-mohawk-tower-renovations-completed-kirchhoff-consigli-construction-management\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Albany Mohawk Tower Renovations Completed by Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ALBANY,\u00a0NY \u2013 <\/strong>A full renovation of the University of Albany SUNY Mohawk Tower for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) has been completed by Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management (KCCM) in time for students to move in for the Fall semester.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a pleasure working with representatives from the DASNY, the Facilities Management team at the University of Albany, as well as the architect teams at Cannon Design and Architecture + to successfully complete this massive renovation in the heart of an occupied campus. We are proud to have been part of such a transformative project,\u201d said Mike Winters, KCCM Project Executive.<\/p>\n<p>The 100, 000 square-foot, 24-story residential high rise, located at the center of the Indian Quadrangle Residence Hall complex on campus, was originally built in 1972 and needed extensive exterior and interior renovations and upgrades. Working with Architecture +, a local design firm, all 2,200 windows have been replaced with energy efficient, awning-style operable windows. In addition to exterior repairs to the precast concrete fa\u00e7ade and doors, the entry vestibule has been reconfigured to create a two-story weather-tight entry.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the tower houses 440 beds and contains a\u00a0lounge and multipurpose spaces and a weather observatory on the roof level.\u00a0 With Cannon Design, KCCM renovated the interior spaces and installed new mechanical, electrical, fire protection and plumbing systems and made elevator improvements, bringing the building up to current standards, codes and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Mohawk Tower, KCCM is also working with Architecture + on exterior restoration at Stuyvesant, Livingston and Eastman Towers, all residence halls which define the University of Albany\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1990 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.consigli.com\/ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/SUNY-Albany_FIN_0822_015.jpg?_t=1491225007\" width=\"541\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALBANY,\u00a0NY \u2013 A full renovation of the University of Albany SUNY Mohawk Tower for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) has been completed by Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management (KCCM) in time for students to move in for the Fall semester. \u201cIt\u2019s been a pleasure working with representatives<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[3,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1989","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","category-uncategorized"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n<title>University of Albany Mohawk Tower Renovations Completed by Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management -
