POUGHKEEPSIE,\u00a0NY \u2013<\/strong> Vassar Brothers Medical Center\u2019s new campus expansion in Poughkeepsie, completed by the design-build team of Kirchhoff Consigli Construction Management (KCCM) of Pleasant Valley, New York and Steffian Bradley Architects of Boston, Massachusetts, offers a comfortable and welcoming new facility, winning over fans of both patients and staff.<\/p>\n Built to meet increased patient demand for the Mid-Hudson Valley regional medical center, the campus includes a new four-story, 100,000 square foot Daniel Z. Aronzon Ambulatory Surgery Center, a new free-standing 5,000 square-foot cafeteriabuilding to service the entire Medical Center, and two new parking structures.<\/p>\n The Daniel Z. Aronzon Ambulatory Surgery Center, a 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, houses five operating\/procedural suites, surgical preparatory and recovery units, a family waiting lounge and medical\/administrative offices.<\/p>\n The expansion also includes a new much-needed five-story, 867-vehicle employee parking garage to accommodate the Center\u2019s large staff.\u00a0 The pre-cast concrete structure\u2019s design resembles a three-story building.<\/p>\n Located adjacent to the Medical Office Building, a new 266-space parking deck for patients was designed as a counterpart to the employee parking garage.\u00a0 The free-standing caf\u00e9 building links the larger buildings with new pedestrian area, walkways and outdoor seating.<\/p>\n Patient response to the new Center has been enthusiastic.
