In a recent Bisnow webinar, Sustainable Construction Creating More Sustainable Buildings at a Higher Value<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Consigli Project Executive, Matthew Tonello, spoke about the value and tremendous potential of mass timber in the construction and design industry. The focus of the webinar dove into the different benefits, costs and challenges, as well as opportunities that mass timber presents. Other panelists included: John Klein, CEO, Generate; Colin Booth, director of strategy, Placetailor; and Wil Catlin, managing director & senior partner, Boston Realty Advisors as the moderator.<\/p>\n

Mass timber is a broad industry that encompasses wood based structural framing members. It\u2019s not codified, so it\u2019s loosely used to describe many different types of structural building components including: Glued-Laminated Timber \u201cGlulam\u201d or \u201cGLT\u201d, Cross Laminated Timber \u201cCLT\u201d, Nail Laminated Timber \u201cNLT\u201d, Dowel Laminated Timber \u201cDLT\u201d and others. All can be used in a myriad of solutions and have the capability to serve the purpose of floor, roof and wall framing systems.<\/p>\n
