“The retail Award of Excellence goes to an outstanding project that magically fills a void in performance venues in Washington, D.C. and is expertly integrated into a mixed-use neighborhood,” commented the judges.

The new 130,000 square-foot concert and events hall, which serves 2,500 to 6,000 concert-goers and hosts seven bars on three levels, anchors The Wharf, a 24-acre waterfront development in D.C.’s Southwest quadrant. As the neighborhood’s cultural center, the acoustically advanced concert hall hosts performances by internationally celebrated artists and local favorites.  It also serves as a unique convention facility and event venue on D.C.’s waterfront.

The NAIOP DC|MD annual award program honors outstanding achievement in real estate and innovative design and construction techniques and is presented to the best new projects in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
