This annual list of honorees is presented by the New York Building Congress and recognizes the construction industry leaders who are building and rebuilding New York. It highlights the most influential individuals in the industry, including executives at construction companies of varying sizes and types.

In addition to construction industry executives, the Construction Power 100 List also showcases government officials who manage public projects and drive policy, as well as leaders in labor and the trades.

Since joining Consigli in 2022 to manage NYC Metro Region operations, Laura currently oversees more than $1.6 billion in projects, including a major construction contract at NYC Health + Hospitals’ Bellevue Hospital; renovation work at the Bronx High School of Science; and a new residential building at 25-01 Queens Plaza North.

After completing a high school internship in her hometown of Blackburn, England that allowed her to shadow construction work on an active jobsite, Laura was inspired to pursue an education and a career in the field.

It’s been a theme throughout Bush’s three-decade career: Women are a rarity in construction. Women in top leadership positions are even rarer. Bush is one of those women.

Since relocating to New York in early 2001, Laura has worked her way up the ranks and has led major projects throughout the New York City area. In 2021, she joined Consigli as Director of Operations and now leads the region’s 125 employees across two offices.

Bush’s specialized expertise in project planning, quality assurance and operational excellence has contributed to her success in leading construction projects for many high-profile, luxury residential and hospitality projects throughout the city.

In addition to her operational and project success, Laura has been a long-time advocate for female growth and development in the construction industry. She is has served on the Board of the Women Builder’s Council in New York City, is a past Chapter President of the Greater New York and Long Island Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and a founding co-chair of the Ambassador Council for Non-Traditional Employment for Women (NEW).
