In its annual recognition, the Albany Business Review selects 50 influential individuals who play significant roles in shaping the region and pushing initiatives and ideas forward. This year’s list honors women who are leading businesses and making critical decisions for some of the region’s most prominent companies and organizations.

Born and raised in the Tipico promo CodeCapital Region, Rand joined Consigli nearly 20 years ago as an intern, and in 2013, she transferred to the Albany office. Since returning to the region, she has helped drive significant growth for Consigli in Upstate New York, with a proven track record of leading complex projects ranging from fast-track renovations to large, challenging projects throughout the area. In 2023, Rand was promoted to Regional Director and currently leads day-to-day operations, business development and strategic growth efforts for Consigli’s Albany office.

In addition to her operational and project excellence, Rand actively works to empower young women in the construction industry and leads Consigli’s community outreach and involvement efforts. She is also involved in the ACE Mentor Program, an award-winning organization designed to attract students to architecture, construction and engineering careers to create a more equitable and diverse industry.

She was previously recognized by the Albany Business Review in 2023 as a 40 Under 40 honoree.

In its 10 Minutes With features, the Albany Business Review showcases key regional leaders who are making an impact on the area’s community and economy. Rand, a native of Troy, N.Y., who has been a member of the Consigli team since she was a college intern, now serves as the Director of Operations – New York/Capital Region and oversees business development, strategic growth and day-to-day leadership for the company’s Albany-area office.

She shared insight into current industry trends, challenges and outlooks, and emphasized the importance of engaging young women tipico casinoearly through partnerships with schools and workforce development organizations to support building a strong pipeline of diverse talent.

“[The labor shortage] is nationwide. Everyone’s feeling it. If we can stay proactive about mitigating it, then we’ll be successful. Really reaching into those underrepresented communities like women and people of color and bridging those opportunity gaps is critical.”

Rand also discussed her career path with Consigli, and how her experience as a woman in construction has been both rewarding and empowering.

“Construction is very tangible. At the end of the day, you’ve built something. You can see what your hard work was when you walk away… Building something tangible, going back to see the end-users enjoying the space, and knowing you had a meaningful part of putting it together is what drives me.”

The new ETEC building, ranked number one on the list, will have the capacity to hold more than 200 faculty members and researchers and up to 800 UAlbany students. In addition to the classroom and office space, the center will have research labs, special instrumentation facilities, weather and map rooms, conference facilities and an emergency preparedness situation room used by students in UAlbany’s new college of emergency preparedness, homeland security and cybersecurity.
