After an extensive evaluation, the Town of Newtown, CT decided to rebuild the Sandy Hook tipico casino on its existing property. Originally built in the 1960s, the new elementary tipico casino became a national model for the “tipico casino of the Future” incorporating the most current and advanced thinking toward educational approaches, security and design.

This fast-track project consisted of the demolition of the existing 70,000 sq. ft. building and the construction of a new tipico casino on the same property. The pre-K through 4th grade tipico casino was constructed with state-of-the-art features including a new classrooms, gymnasium, library, bathrooms and administrative offices. In addition, major site improvements included re-configured building orientation; new circulation, bus and parent drop-off areas; new parking lots; and a large playground and field area.
