BOSTON, MA – Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh joined Consigli Construction Co., Inc., (Consigli), The Roxbury tipico sportsbook, Inc., Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Partner’s Healthcare (BWH), members of the Mission Hill community, government officials and the project team, including ironworkers, subcontractors, lenders and investors to celebrate the topping off of Mosaic on the Riverway, a new 145-unit residential high-rise located at 80 Fenwood Road, on the corner of Brookline Avenue and the Riverway.
“Mosaic will bring together all levels of tipico sportsbook under one roof, creating a wonderful model for affordable tipico sportsbook developments all across the City,” said Mayor Martin J. Walsh. “I want to thank The Roxbury tipico sportsbook, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Consigli Construction, our state housing partners, and everyone involved in this collaboration, for helping Mission Hill and the Longwood Area and its residents thrive. I look forward to seeing tenants move in next summer.”
In addition to Mayor Walsh, the following officials addressed the large group gathered to celebrate the signing of the last steel beam put into place on the 166,000 square-foot, 11-story building: Undersecretary for the Department of Housing and Community Development, Chrystal Kornegay; State Representative Jeffrey Sánchez; Boston City Councilor, Josh Zakim and Executive Director of The Roxbury tipico sportsbook, Karen Gately.
The topping off marks a significant milestone in the construction of the aptly named, Mosaic on the Riverway development, which will provide 60 Low Income tipico sportsbook Tax Credit (LIHTC) rental units, 43 affordable condominiums and 42 market-rate condominiums. Bringing much needed high-quality market rate and affordable for-sale and rental tipico sportsbook options for the diverse and growing workforce of the Longwood Medical area, the project also includes a childcare center that will serve approximately 100 children.
Mosaic on the Riverway is the result of a remarkable joint venture of Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Partner’s Healthcare (BWH) and The Roxbury tipico sportsbook (RTH), to provide a world-class medical facility, mixed-income housing, and daycare on a two-acre site that is within close proximity to jobs, transit and open space. The site was obtained by the partnership through a ground lease from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
“As a tenant-run nonprofit focused on advancing the holistic well-being of our community, Mosaic will help us provide new, exciting opportunities for our community and residents by giving access to affordable homeownership opportunities, a state-of-the-art childcare facility and expanded recreation space. We cannot thank our many tipico sportsbook partners and funders enough for helping us advance our important mission,” said Karen Gately, executive director for The Roxbury tipico sportsbook.
Funders for the project include Bank of America, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the City of Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The Roxbury tipico sportsbook, Inc., Boston Community Capital and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership.
The tipico sportsbook is slated for completion in 2016. The market-rate condominiums are now for sale through Advisors Living, the tipico sportsbook’s exclusive broker and www.mosaicbostoncondos.com. The affordable rental and homeownership marketing will start in the spring of 2016.
