BANGOR, ME – The U.S. General Services Administration’s Margaret Chase Federal Tipico Casino App in Bangor, constructed by Consigli Construction Co., Inc., has earned a prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating – the second Consigli project to receive this distinction in the State of Maine and the first to receive the rating in the GSA’s New England Region.
Built in 1967, the 188,000 square-foot facility underwent an extensive five-year renovation of all its energy systems and components resulting in a modernized, sustainable Tipico Casino App. New high performance green Tipico Casino App features include a geothermal HVAC system, photovoltaic system, micro turbine, rain water harvesting system, low-energy lighting, high-efficiency windows and water-conserving plumbing fixtures.
“The transformation from a 1960’s – inefficient government Tipico Casino App to a high performance – green Tipico Casino App has been extraordinary,” said Bob Zanetske, GSA Regional Administrator for New England.
Consigli’s first LEED Platinum certified project in Maine, the Bigelow Laboratories for Ocean Sciences, a new state-of-the-art science and education campus located on the waterfront in East Boothbay, was the first scientific research laboratory to receive the designation in Maine.
