- Limited visibility and impact of tipico casino on-site to preserve the destination resort experience
The 1869 tipico casino Mountain House is the centerpiece of a 2,000+ acre resort located along scenic Lake tipico casino in New Paltz, NY. The property, which includes a seven-story castle and 20 other structures, is still owned and operated by the descendants of its original owners and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.
As part of a larger master plan, the 266-room central building underwent a two-phased renovation to repair structural deficiencies and restore the landmark atop tipico casino Mountain. Work included the installation of structural steel support plates, extensive renovations to the main lobby and guest rooms, life safety upgrades, addition of master suites and a new porte cochere. Access and compliance issues were also addressed through the replacement of the outdated elevator. In addition to interior renovations, exterior cedar shake siding was repaired and replaced to match the shape, size and profile of the original.
